About Our Journey

Are you into biking and campfires at sunset? Cooking together by the riverside and sleeping under the open sky? Do you want to try out? Then this adventure is perfect for you! We aim to create unforgettable memories together and promote international encounters on two wheels. In September, we’ll embark on a roughly 14-day cycling tour along the Rhine River with a group of 15 young people and young adults, accompanied by 3 group leaders. The focus will be on getting to know each other, cultural exchange, the basics of bike touring, outdoor cooking, and experiencing democratic group dynamics. In addition to the physical challenge, we also want to introduce participants to the historical and cultural richness of the region and connect with interesting projects along the way. We'll cover a daily distance of around 40–60 km by bike and will also schedule rest days.

Luggage & Bike

Pack as lightly as possible! Since we’ll be traveling in late summer, we need to bring some warm clothing. A 3-Season sleeping bag is suggested. All cooking equipment like gas stoves and pots will be transported by the orga crew. You’ll only need to bring your own basic eating utensils like a bowl, plate, fork, spoon and knife. And of course you will need a bicycle that can carry all of your stuff.

Accommodation & Food

We’ll mostly sleep outdoors – in tents, hammocks, or under the open sky. So please bring your own sleepingbag, air mattress, etc. or talk to the Orga-Team before. Occasionally, we’ll stay in youth hostels or hotels. Most of the meals will be prepared by ourselves and cooked outdoors. Each day, we’ll divide into small teams responsible for different tasks such as shopping, setting up camp, food prep, and cooking. When the opportunity arises, we’ll gather regional wild foods – such as edible mushrooms, berries, herbs etc. – and use them in our meals.

Important Note!

It is not necessary to cycle the entire route. Participants can join the group later or leave earlier if needed. Just let us know when you'd be available, and we’ll work together to find a suitable option!

Are you interested or have any questions? Then get in touch via email. We’ll go over all the details — travel arrangements, schedule, and packing lists — in a video meeting! This link will be sent automatically to all participants who already signed up in the booking system as well. Usually we also have a signal-group with all participants for a faster communication.

What our participants say!

"Coming along was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've learned and gained so incredibly much from this experience that I don't even know how to process it all yet." - Participant from Biking Borders along the Moselle 2026
"The climbs to our wild camping spots were a little adventure every single time—we were all completely exhausted, but that was exactly what made them so special. And sharing a meal outside the bike workshop had such an incredibly beautiful, wholesome atmosphere." - Participant from Biking Borders along the Moselle 2025
"I never imagined I could get to know so many people so deeply and come to care about them so much in such a short time." - Participant from Biking Borders along the Moselle 2025
